The Scott Meyers Mailing List is a way for Scott to communicate with people
who are interested in his professional activities. Volume in the list is
low. More than two messages per month is unusual.

List Contents and Policies
The list is primarily used for announcements, typically:
- Public appearances Scott will be making, e.g., presentations at
conferences, bookstores, user groups, etc. Scott will use the mailing list
to let you know where he'll be and when he'll be there.
- The appearance of new publications by Scott, e.g., books, CDs,
magazine articles, academic papers, or web pages. When Scott publishes
something he thinks you might like to read, he'll tell you where to find
it.
The mailing list is designed to have the highest possible signal-to-noise
ratio. As a result,
- Subscribers to the mailing list will never be revealed to
anybody. Scott hates spam as much as you do. You can subscribe to the
mailing list without worrying that your email address will eventually find
its way to Scott's publisher or other mailing lists, etc. It won't.
- List messages will never include third-party advertising. Sure,
it'd save Scott a few bucks in list-hosting fees, but Scott finds ads
intrusive, and he won't inflict anything on you he wouldn't want you to
inflict on him.
